Meet the Team

John Mitchell
BRANCH MANAGER
Born in Dorset, UK on a dairy farm, John completed a diesel mechanic apprenticeship with a local MF dealer. Convinced by his mate, who was working at JJ’s, John came over for a six month stint in NZ and joined the workshop in Mosgiel. He returned home and shortly after was back to work for our Christchurch branch, and managed the workshop there.
John moved into an Operations Manager role in Mosgiel before being handed the reins as Branch Manager of both the Mosgiel and Cromwell branches. Agriculture runs through his veins and he loves to inject his laughter and comraderie throughout his team here at JJ’s.

Sab Fikaj
SERVICE MANAGER
Sab grew up on a farm in the UK and became an apprentice mechanic at Peacock and Binnington working on Massey Ferguson and Fendt tractors.
Sab moved to New Zealand in 2013 and started at JJ’s. After doing two seasons with us as a field service technician he decided to stay on permanently and took on the role as Service Manager.

Stephen Barker
PARTS MANAGER
Stephen was born and raised on a farm in Southland and completed his apprenticeship in Automotive Engineering and gained A Grade qualifications.
He has 25+ years experience in the agricultural industry and had a lengthy stint in the UK. Upon returning to NZ he worked as a mechanic at the Mosgiel branch before taking on the Parts Manager role.

Gavin Denston
SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Gavin took up an apprenticeship upon leaving school and has been a tractor mechanic and a workshop service manager for more than 15 years and then moved into sales.

Tony Scanlan
SALES REPRESENTATIVE
After leaving school Tony did a fitters apprenticeship in Dunedin, and after 5 years went back to look after the machinery side of the family farm and did a side of contracting.
Tony eventually brought a medium square baler and went contracting for 17 years while also traveling to the UK during the NZ off season.
